Story
On July 24th, 2017 our beautiful, kind and thoughtful mum Janet was dealt the devastating blow that she has cancer. Its a rare and aggressive stomach cancer called Linitis Plastica which upon diagnosis had already spread to her peritoneum, making her cancer inoperable. The health service in the UK has only offered her palliative treatment and given her a handful of months to live. She hasn't even been given the chance to fight.
At 69, with the health, vitality and zest for life of someone far younger, this grandmother of nine young children is not ready to kick up her heels. She is so very loved and she desperately wants to live to see our babies grow more.
We've been in consultation with a private clinic that can offer her pioneering treatment. Its called the Hallwang Clinic in Germany. We know they have saved or significantly prolonged the lives of many people in Mums position. Treatment is based on immunotherapy (essentially helping her own immune system to attack the cancer) and is making great strides as an alternative or an addition to chemotherapy. Its just not available in the UK yet for Mums cancer. However, as a private clinic its extremely expensive. We're doing everything we can to get her there to give her a fighting chance but we need your help. Even a small donation from you means the whole world to us. Please, please help us save our Mum.
