Story

After living a horrible earthquake where 471 people died and 180,731 housing buildings and 16,136 schools where affected, I decided to reach out to my network of friends for help so together we could help people who were affected.

Today I am happy to say with the help of all of you, we will be able to build a house for Miguel and his family who live in Santa Mónica Ocuilán, México

My friend Casilda de Ovando, met Miguel few months before the earthquake at an event , where he was working as one of the waiters. During the weekends he looks for different jobs as he is paying for his education and helping out his family.

Miguel who is 21 years old, lives with his family: His parents, Tomas and Marina, his twin sister Miriam and his brother Jaime.

After the earthquake Casilda went with architects and engineers to check out the house , which looked in a very bad condition. They concluded that the house should be knocked down for security reasons. This news came as a great shock to Miguel's family, as it took them 5 years to build it, with a lot of hard work and using up all their savings, and then suddenly in minutes they could loose their house and have no where to go.

Since 21 September, Miguel and his family are sleeping in tents , and it is therefore most urgent to build him a new house , which will be built making sure that it is strong enough in case another strong earthquake happens in the future , which will be a good place for the 5 members of the family to live there for the years to come, before the strong winter starts.

We need 5,000 pounds to make this happen, we are nearly there but please if you can help me , by sharing this with people you may know, it would be great to start building this house as soon as possible .
