Story

From watching the horrors of what is happening in the Ukraine unfold over the past week, I will not be alone in feeling compelled to act. I have seen many charities collecting provisions to transport to Poland to support Ukrainian people that have been forced to flee their homes. On the news it has said they are relying on lorry drivers donating their time. At the end of next week my husband and I are visiting our family in Poland and want to use the opportunity to do our bit. Our family have a factory and a fleet of vans and so we are raising money to hopefully fill a van once we arrive in Poland with essentials to deliver to a drop off centre. We originally planned to drive donations to Przemysl, where Ukrainians arrive after crossing the Polish border, but there is now an appeal for donations not to go here as they are overwhelmed. Donations are now being asked to be taken to other drop off centres which have been set up across Poland and which will support people that are being relocated to safety. Each drop off centre has a list of donations that they need. Our relatives in Poland are researching the best places to purchase these. We are obviously not a charity and are just trying to galvanise on an opportunity to help. I thought it would be nice to offer the opportunity to friends and family in case they would like to join our effort.
