Story

While watching the World Cup, it's easy to forget that so many people do not have access to the same enjoyment of sport that we do! Throughout August, I will be volunteering with Girls United in Bacalar, eastern Mexico. Their mission is to establish football academies in low-income areas around the world, to promote gender equality, improve physical health and encourage sustainable economic changes through football coaching. They not only set up the academies, but provide the local community with the support and structure to adopt and sustain them.

I am passionate about their vision: for girls around the world to have equal access to sport, gaining skills and abilities that will broaden their opportunities to participate in education and the economy.

Any funds, however small, will be greatly appreciated by the girls! Any money I raise will be put towards equipment and professional coaching for the girls, and my accommodation in Mexico. Thank you for engaging with such a great cause!!
