Story
I suffer from a genetic skin condition called Dytrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa.
This means that because of a fault in my DNA I don't produce a type of collagen that anchors my skin, leaving me very vulnerable to large painful blisters that have to be popped drained and dressed, or large open wounds just with the slightest knock or friction. These heal similar to burn wounds leaving large burn like scars which can erupt very easily. This affects me both internally and externally my mouth and throat also blister and erupt too. I also have very weak tooth enamel and no nails at all.
I have led a very lucky life so far and I have my limits but I've managed to live around them, I'm very lucky to have 4 beautiful sons and I am now at university studying biomedical science with a view to contribute to research into skin conditions much like my own and give back so to speak.
I created this page because I find myself constantly having restorative surgery on my teeth that is both painful and doesn't last so I end up back at square one...34 years old with the smile of a 107 year old.
All I am asking is for a small donation to help me reach my goal and have dental implants put in with removable crowns which are recommended for people who like myself have long term gum problems, I cannot get them on the NHS as it is far too costly for them so my only option is to pay privately to have them done but I cannot afford that sort of money by myself either, so any donation however small would be greatly greatly appreciated Thank you for reading my story and feel free to ask anything you like also
