Story
Help Chloe gain her mobility.
Chloe was born prematurely at 29 weeks, in the first hours of her life she suffered a brain bleed. Alongside other complications Chloe was left fighting for her life, she remained in hospital for 6 weeks, at which point, we her parents were told that the bleeds may cause her issues as she develops.
As Chloe developed, her lack of mobility became apparent at an early age, she was unable to sit, crawl or have any core strength. Both her left arm & leg did not show the strength or movement that it should for an able bodied child. With many meetings and check ups she was given the official diagnosis of Left Sided Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy at the age of 2yr old. After a routine x ray, it was found that Chloe had hip dysplasia in both hips, it was decided that an operation was needed on both sides, leaving Chloe in a Hip Spica Cast for 3 months.
Now that Chloe is out of the spica cast it is imperative that she is given the best chance to gain her mobility, she is currently getting physiotherapy via home visits from the NHS who are doing a great job but Chloe does require more than this. Chloe has been getting private physiotherapy via the Charity Heal and Toe in Chester- Le - Street but this is at a personal cost to ourselves.
Since going to Heal and Toe, Chloe has gone from being unable to sit, to sitting for up to 21 minutes. We are hoping that with your support we will be able to provide further physiotherapy to help her gain the strength she needs to be able to sit unaided, stand and eventually walk, gaining her independence.
Thank you for reading this and your support.
Kindest Regards
