I've raised £5000 to Give a helping hand to Lebanon. JCI Lebanon aims to raise funds to help those affected by the Beirut explosion.

On August 4, 2020, a catastrophic explosion rippled through Beirut, destroying everything in its path. Shock waves were felt across the country, even all the way in Cyprus (located over 200 km away from Beirut). The images shared on social media are heartbreaking, but the impact on the ground is even more catastrophic. Thousands of people have been impacted by the explosion, and many are in critical conditions in need of medical help.
JCI Lebanon is reaching out to the international community of fellow Jaycees and young active citizens for a helping hand. All contributions, no matter how small, can make the biggest impact and are truly appreciated. Together, we can try and help as many people as possible by providing financial resources to the following organizations/initiatives:
1- The Children's Cancer Center Lebanon (Children's Cancer Center Lebanon), a non political, non religious organization that provides free cancer treatment to children in Lebanon regardless of their socio-economic background and ethnicity. We have been working with CCCL since the start of 2020 when Lebanon was experiencing a major economic crisis and funding was scarce. The CCCL hospital has been damaged and patients have been injured. Part of the funds raised will go directly to the CCCL via an online donation.
2- Rise Build Beirut (Rise Build Beirut) is an initiative started by registered Lebanese architects and engineers who aim to provide free professional expertise to aid those who have damaged homes and properties. The initiative is a non-profit that provides a platform for donors to directly pay suppliers who will carry out repairs to properties assessed by the Rise Build Beirut team. Their website outlines transparency in their work. Part of the funds raised by JCI Lebanon will go to funding the rebuilding/restoration of damaged properties in Beirut via an online donation.
3- The Lebanese Red Cross (Lebanese Red Cross) is a non-religious, non-political non-profit organization. The LRC were the first responders following the explosion providing emergency medical relief and aid to victims. They are currently overwhelmed by handling the explosion aftermath and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Part of the funds raised by JCI Lebanon will go to funding their work via an online donation.
Funds will be withdrawn in cash by the 2020 JCI Lebanon National President and donated in person to the parties listed above.
