Brave Javier lives a life of constant pain. Born in Malta 10 weeks premature, shortly after birth a scan revealed a large portion of Javier's brain was missing and the brain that Javier did have, was severely damaged. Javier was diagnosed with Rhombencephalosynapsis (RS) an extremely rare brain malformation and underwent his first of many surgeries. The chances of survival were slim. But Javier pulled through and Javier is now the only person in Malta, one of 3 in Europe and 50 in the whole world to live with this debilitating condition.

In 2014, Javier's devoted and loving parents Dennis & Dorelle discovered a new treatment that could help Javier. A specialist therapy at the Praxis Therapy Centre in Knaresborough. The clinic accepted Javier's case and the couple set about raising the £25,000 needed to fund the month long journey to the UK. With the help of some very generous donors, a year later, Javier underwent his first session of intensive therapy at the private Yorkshire clinic and improvements were visible almost immediately. After three weeks of therapy, Javier's frustrations subsided, his concentration span increased and he ate his first burger!

Through a series of bake sales & raffles, I'm raising money so Javier, Dennis & Dorelle can continue to make the journey once a year from Malta to the UK for Javier to receive this life changing and enhancing treatment.
