Story
Many people have already said they want, and will donate to a lasting & permanent memorial to Gladys Blackburne, who touched many peoples hearts with her acts of kindness and bravery. Gladys passed away over 20 years ago, and is still remembered with much affection by soldiers, prison wardens and police officers across the world. we want to put in place a memorial to remember her by for years to come. Even people who never met her want to donate. Please help us to make this happen for Gladys

I was too young to have known Gladys but her memory should be etched in stone to be remembered by the generations the security forces served to protect. Gladys played her part to. God bless.

Belfast, United Kingdom
I served in Northern Ireland on two occasions, a two year tour in Londonderry, and a six month tour in Belfast. I met Gladys a number of times, and never really gave her much thought. But I have always remembered her. And when I speak to other soldiers, they remember her too.
