    Story

The Glasgow Titans Football club (The “BIGGEST” team in Glasgow), was founded in 2017, by a group of like minded individuals who all had the same ambition, using football as a means to weightloss.

We are a group of overweight gentlemen from the age of 20+, who train 2 hours per week and play matches on weekends against community teams from all over Scotland. These teams are affiliated to professional clubs through the SPFL, which we unfortunately are not. Our kits, training equipment and other essentials are currently bought by the members themselves. All of these costs on top of training and match costs can significantly add up for each individual and we are looking to keep costs as low as possible so this doesn’t prevent members from taking part and achieving their goal of losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle.

This is where we hope you can help us in reducing costs and we would be grateful of donations of any amount to help with the day to day running of the club including pitch hire, balls, training cones, medical supplies etc. These are all essential in the continuation of the club and to receive some additional help would be massive.

We started the club from a basic idea of a love of football and the determination to lose weight and 6 months on we are more determined than ever to make it a success so failure is simply not an option. We believe we have built a lot of momentum in the short time we have been a club and we wish to carry this forward for as long as possible in order to reach our end goal. The team already has some great loses in the weight department and aims to continue to do so.

Our main aim is to promote a healthier lifestyle, and decrease the chance of being affected with the series of health problems that can arise due to being overweight. A recent NHS survey and subsequent campaign shows us that obesity is the second biggest cause of cancer.
