Story

Glasgow Zine Library is a community library housed in 16 Nicholson Street on Glasgow's south side.

Once open, we will host a year-long programme of events, including readings, screenings, workshops for varying skill levels, in addition to operating as a fully fledged lending library. As well as the 500+ titles currently in our collection, we will have a reference section for people to check out books about the culture of DIY and self-publishing.

All money donated goes toward helping us to install an access ramp, buy autism-friendly lighting, build shelves at varying heights, purchase software and materials that will allow us to catalogue our content and create library cards for people to borrow zines and books, developing our stock so that we are able to purchase zines in community languages, and paying for things like paint and furniture that will allow people to sit in and read comfortably. We want GZL to be an accessible point of entry from day one, and your donation goes directly toward helping us to achieve this goal.

Any additional money raised will go toward paying people for their time in assisting us with archiving, cataloguing, building, transporting, etc..
