Story

Che Tao in Yen Bai, Vietnam has recently been hit by the worst floods in over 70 years. The charity GLCC is going to hand out donations of food, clothing and blankets in September. GLCC also funds sponsorship of orphans and a school in this area. Yen Bai has been badly hit by floods and is desperate for donations. Many people have lost their homes and we are also getting increasing reports of people losing their lives in the floods.

GLCC has been getting involved in a charity mission to Mù Cang Chải district in the northwestern mountainous province of Yên Bái. Over the past five years, they have donated a number of warm coats, mattresses, and school objects for Chế Tạo semi-boarding school in Mù Cang Chải. It has also built infrastructure for the school whose pupils are from the H’Mong ethnic minority.

The GLCC staffs, including foreign teachers, are going to Che Tao at the end of August for two jobs: 1/ bringing school supplies for school children on the new school year inauguration and visiting H’mong orphans to consider sponsorship. 2/ Giving relief aid, including instant noodles and blankets, flood victims who have suffered houses washed away by the worst hit flood over the past 70 years.
