Story
As of June 2018, those who have experienced male rape or / and sexual abuse, either in childhood or in adulthood, are having to wait around 1 year to access 121 counselling services. (Although group work and internet chat help have less and no wait respectively.)
There are fortunately many organisations catering for female victims of rape or sexual abuse. However, male sexual rape or assault can still be quite a taboo subject. Thankfully, SurvivorsUK is the only charity focussed on the needs of men in the whole of The UK.
As SurvivorsUK' new volunteer, I'd like to make a difference by getting more counsellors funded, so this waiting list becomes shorter, so potential clients don't have to wait this long.
Please give you all can and if there is anyway you could spread the word about this campaign, or have ideas of your own, then please do get in touch.
Lets give those who have endured rape or other sexual abuse the safe place and time to heal.
