Story

The 2018 Father’s Day Half Marathon will start at 09:00 at L’Eree and will run through town seafront to finish on crown pier I am planning to run the fathers day half marathon in Guernsey. I would like your support to raise money for the Dyslexia Day Centre in Guernsey

The centre was formed in 1986 and over the years it has provided tuition to over 4500 pupils.

In September 2016 the centre took over part of the former St Andrew’s Primary School and undertook an extensive modification programme to create a fantastic classroom experience. In January 2017 the centre moved into its new home.

It is expensive to run the centre. Apart from the very costly building costs it also has to raise approximately £50,000 per annum to meet the shortfall.

The centre works in all the States Schools. It also provides after school sessions for all ages, workshops, study skills sessions, training and assessments for children and adults.

To see a dyslexic child who has no confidence and struggling to learn, making progress and achieving their goals in life is wonderful to see.
