I've raised £500 to support music based charities, groups and communities through gig photography for musicians, venues and publications.

I am passionate about music and photography and have had a number of opportunities to combine those 2 in large and small venues across the UK and US over the years on a very amateur basis.
Inspired by volunteer groups such as the 'Solo Armada' and 'Safe Gigs for Women', I wanted to try and give something back. I got to witness first hand at the Lost Evenings III festival in Boston, US, the impact a bunch of volunteers can have in supporting people in attending gigs on their own. They have built a community with nothing more than a badge and an inclusive, supportive attitude. Safe Gigs for Women, established in 2015, works with gig/festival goers, venues, events, bands and artists to get sexual harassment out of our music scenes. Amazing causes.
I am no professional photographer so all images I produce are given to the band or venue free of charge to support their press and social media content. That is when it struck me, I could actually start giving something back. By asking for a donation, of any size, I hope to be able to support some of the above mentioned initiatives, as well as other music based groups, to continue their amazing work.
Thank you for your support
