This Christmas GMP Recruitment are combining their charitable donations with a community initiative in light of the 18 months we have all had.

This year GMP Recruitment will be raising money for New Hope in Worcester and Mind.

There has been nobody that hasn't been affected by Covid-19 in some way, shape or form. This has taken a toll on people's mental health across the board, and has also made the day-to-day struggle of independent charities unimaginably more difficult. This is what allowed us to choose these two great charities to be our nominated charities this year.

What Covid-19 has also meant is a lot of people were unable to celebrate special occasions with friends and family, or access support at times of loss to remember those of no longer with us.

So what is #gmtree?

This year, as part of a community initiative, GMP Recruitment has got a Christmas Tree being displayed at the beautiful Worcester Cathedral.

GMP will be asking people who had, or know someone who had, a milestone birthday, milestone anniversary, birth, marriage or loss during the pandemic to email us their story of the event that was overshadowed by the pandemic. This will allow them to share their news with the wider community in the beautiful setting of the Worcester Cathedral. Closing date for submissions is Friday 12th November.

Please email vicky@gmprecruitment.co.uk the following:

- Your name/or the name of the person(s) you are nominating

- The occasion that arose during the pandemic

Once we have received all submissions we will select 50 people. For those 50 we will:

- Create a bauble that will carry a message marking the event and a picture (if provided) that will hang on the tree in the Cathedral for the duration of December 2021 for all to see.

- Donate £10.00 to each charity in the person(s)' name - £20.00 total donation per bauble

- Post the bauble back to the person/nominee at the start of January for safekeeping

This will guarantee a minimum donation of £500.00 per charity from GMP Recruitment - £1,000 total donation.

So what can you do?

It would be fantastic if we can go far beyond the £1,000 as a community. We are asking anyone that applies, any that is successful and basically anyone that reads this to donate what they can on this page and make a real dent for these two great causes. Nothing is too small to not be gratefully received.

Also please share your pictures of our tree with the hashtag #gmtree and spread the word.

We will be announcing the total on Christmas Eve at 1pm; however we will still be taking donations to the end of December!

Anything you can spare for these two brilliant causes and to make this count will be greatly received.
