I've raised £1650 to To help raise funds to purchase our own vehicle to operate our feedings program for the street dogs of Goa, India.

Goa Dog Foundation was formed in 2017 by three people who were brought together through a street dog who was in desperate need of care and medical treatment. The foundation was named after our dog who we named Goa and now his name will live on in hope that we can continue to help and support other dogs in need. The program is based in Goa, India, and is managed from India and Europe.
The foundation is currently on Facebook and Instagram and very soon our web page will be fully functional so people can learn more about our work, donate and support us. This will help with the sustainability of the feeding program. GDF is a non-profit organization and we employ local staff to help with the feeding program. The founders give their time for free and do not benefit from any of the money received- all funds are used for the care of our dogs.
We provide a feeding program everyday for approximately 50 dogs (which is increasing all the time), medical care, and sterilization for many street dogs. We also foster many puppies that are often found abandoned. With love, care and treatment, we then go on to find the puppies forever adoption homes.
We are currently raising funds and awareness but first on our shopping list is:
• Our own vehicle (see picture) as we currently use scooters and this can be dangerous during monsoon periods. The vehicle will also be used to collect and drop off dogs to the vet, as we currently use taxis or get help from people with vehicles. This is expected to be approximately £1500 + insurance.
• Pay for driving lessons and driving test for our staff. This is expected to be £70
• Trap cage- this is used to catch those dogs that will not let us near them in order for us to have them sterilized. This is expected to be in the region of £100
Any other funds will be used for maintenance of the vehicle/ dog food.
The sustainability of the feeding program will be achieved through public donations; fundraising events in the UK and people who are willing to make small monthly donations (all the information will be available soon on our website). Currently the foundation is being funded by the founders and friends but will require public support very soon. We hope to achieve our target before the monsoon gets too rainy so we can get our very own vehicle; making is easier and safer to operate the feeding program in such extreme weather conditions. Monsoon season is hard for the dogs due to the weather and lack of visitors to the area. This is the time when they need us most and having a vehicle will enable us to continue our program reducing the dangers of riding scooters in such conditions.
Please contact us if you would like to help with fundraising/ awareness.
