I've raised £1000 to send out to the Goedgedacht Trust

This August I will be taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge (climbing Scafell, Snowdon and Ben Nevis in 24 hours) to raise money for the Goedgedacht Trust in South Africa which is an organisation that transforms the lives of those living in impoverished rural communities.
Having been fortunate enough to visit this fantastic organisational project last October, I was amazed and truly humbled by the amount of work they do to improve children's lives. This Trust was established in order to break the cycle of poverty that has entrapped children for generations and resulted in high levels of unemployment, hunger and domestic violence; all situations that no child should ever have to face. They provide a truly caring and safe environment for all to have a chance to develop their lives in a way which not only includes having an education, but also recognises important factors such as health care and personal development.
The Trust works with the whole age range of children, from their nursery stage through their teenage years and up to 25. Their work not only includes providing an education but also the chance for each child to access everyday necessities such as hot meals and the means to shower. As well as the fantastic work of all the volunteers, the resulting optimism of the children was truly inspiring and it is obvious the positive impact this Trust has on their lives.
