What is GOES?

Global Opportunities for Ecological Opportunities (GOES) is founded by a second year Life Science undergraduate student from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK. Its aim is to provide opportunities for students to publish for free in an open-access, independent and marketing free magazine in a simple way. This motivates future scientists to communicate their experience and projects. The magazine is also open to any student from any department who is enthusiastic about nature and wildlife. Interdisciplinary collaboration is greatly encouraged as well as gaining experience in giving presentations and participating in debates.

Why am I need of Patreons?

The start up of GOES costed £400-600 which I could only afford after living in a tent for the summer. I am an independent student, working as a Field Trials Technician at the National Institute for Agricultural Botany (NIAB, Cambridge) while studying part-time Marine Biology with Biodiversity and Conservation. I cover all the costs of GOES on my own.
With your kind contribution I will be able to keep on distributing hard copies of the magazine, organise events/ workshops and hopefully I will be able to start up a GOES Scholarship for students to enable them to motivate others and gain experience.

Why should you invest in GOES?

Naturally you may wonder why you might like to invest in GOES (in other words: me). People who know me personally know that once I set my mind on something I do not sleep or stop until I have done it. When someone invests time and energy to support me (even if it is just a cup of tea!) I already feel indebted to that person and have to give back at least triple the amount of time and energy. The more support I receive for GOES, the bigger it will grow.
