Story
Our fundraising proposal is very simple: WE ARE SEEKING YOUR SUPPORT TO BUILD THE GAMBIA'S FIRST EVER GO-KARTING TRACK TO PROMOTE SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATHEMATICS (STEM) primarily to children and young adults in the educational system. We will be utilising our simple TechCard school kits, which are sets of card paper along with other accessories that give learners ideas and skills to build and simulate real life F1 cars; by integrating the go-kart track next to our containerised welfare facilities to conduct our TechCard STEM classes, we will raise awareness of the importance of STEM education and it's importance inspiring future generations into multiple professional careers.

The Gambia is a very small population of 2.2 million people, over 69% are youth age 26 and younger. The education system is not the best in the world and as a 'poor' nation, we are not privy to world-wide and global competitions such as the acclaimed f1inschools.com STEM programme or formula student. We are hoping that with this fundraiser, we can appeal to your kindselves to aid us raise the amount we need to construct a simple tarmac track (tyres and barriers have been kindly donated by local businesses collected by local volunteers. The location of both the track and containerised welfare facilities will be easily accessible from the main coastal road, near a town called Madiana.

Breakdown of costs: £9500 to tarmac and concrete the track; £3500 labour and contract work; £12000 for 6 go kart cars (£2000 for each), £7000 to build an onsite classroom with containerised welfare facilities to promote the STEM activities and initiatives, such as delivering TechCard sessions.
Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB): It is clear that diversity in STEM is much needed, as a Lewis Hamilton fan his latest commission report in conjunction with the Royal Academy of Engineering is a must read! https://www.hamiltoncommission.org/.
Whether in the UK or abroad of my country of origin The Gambia, young boys and girls in education need opportunities with a chance to progress in their career; programmes such as F1inschools provide these.
