On 26th February 2023, Golborne Brass Band competed at the North West Regional Contest in Blackpool and won first prize in the fourth section. We are absolutely thrilled with this result because it means that we have qualified to compete at the National Finals in Cheltenham in September 2023. We have also secured a promotion to the third section from next January.

Golborne Brass Band is based in Golborne, near Warrington. We pride ourselves on our links to the local community, including a proud mining heritage. The band includes players from Wigan, Warrington and beyond and this is where we can be found throughout the year performing at local concerts and events. We also encourage the next generation of brass banders, having formed a Training Band in 2021 to support musicians of all ages and abilities to learn a brass instrument.

We are fundraising to cover costs of our upcoming trip to Cheltenham, including accommodation, transport, rehearsal venue hire, music and instrument servicing. Any donations would mean the world to us and we are looking forward to representing the North West at the National Finals.
