Golden Years is a community group based in Wellingborough that provides a range of social events for older people to benefit from, in an attempt to promote active/ sociable lifestyles and tackle the issues with social isolation and loneliness.

We are appealing for support to enable us to set up a new Golden Years scheme that will provide many more opportunities for older people in the community. Our aim is to raise enough money to enable us to rent a small commercial space to launch a new pre-loved clothes project. We believe we can support many older people to remain active and community spirited by offering opportunities to be involved in this new project. We are keen to tap into the skills, experience and passions that many older people may have, particularly those from a customer services, fashion or small business background. In return, this scheme is an opportunity for individuals to have their skills and interests reignited and be part of a fantastic new incentive that has the potential to generate more funds towards the daily services we provide.

This project, once established, will not only provide volunteering opportunities for new & existing members of the group but also help us to form firmer foundations for the group and the services we are proud to provide.

We are keen to continue our success by expanding with this scheme and work even closer with the community.
