I've raised £2000 to help raise money to build a music and radio studio at Gomersal Primary School

We would like to build a radio and music production studio in Gomersal Primary school
Leeds based production company This Is Distorted, have agreed to spare some free time to teach the children how to use the equipment in their new studio and start making their own programmes and music. As schools are so under-funded, the only problem is finding the money to buy the computers, keyboards, microphones and sound proofing equipment.
We want to convert the office space next to the library into a new digital media studio / suite to enable groups of pupils to:
- Record and make radio programmes and podcasts
- Create audio dramas and plays
- Learn to edit audio
- Report on local news and interview school visitors
- Learn to edit vocals and links, produce full shows and then make available worldwide on iTunes etc.
- Work with sound effects and incidental music.
- Learn to make, produce and record modern electronic music
- Record and edit videos including green screen techniques and special effects
- Bring in guest speakers and experts to give workshops to pupils and provide free training to teachers.
Setting up this studio will give pupils valuable skills for future careers in media, help build huge amounts of confidence, encourage pupils who show promise in performing arts, music and creative areas to flourish, and give less privileged and children the chance to use equipment and have experiences they might normally not get chance to do.
We’ve costed the full build to be £7735. Friends of Gomersal have agreed to help raise a good portion of the funds over the next school year, but we hope to be able to raise an initial amount to get the project started now. If you can spare a few pounds we’d massively appreciate it!
Thanks, Everyone at Gomersal Primary!
