Story
My beloved friend, who has been ill for many years, was being supported by another kind friend but they have died and she is now being forced to sell her home as the beneficiaries refuse to acknowledge the commitment to her and want all monies repaid (it's a tiny property and she was supported for many years), leaving her with no income and no home. She feels intimidated, threatened and humiliated.
She has been disabled for most of her life and had 2 different forms of cancer, one of them still an ongoing battle and she suffers from side-effects from many years of chemo. She is unable to work and will end-up losing the home she has lived in for a very long time, which she believed was hers forever.
Astonishingly, English law does not protect someone like her.
She is such a kind woman herself and believed she was always going to be looked after; she is terrified of what will become of her, cannot believe this is happening and doesn't know where to turn.
I love her but am not in a position to help. Someone told me about this idea, so I hope I am doing the right thing.
I know there are still good people out there and I hope some of them will look favourably upon her. With love to everyone.
