Story
The Goonown playing field was given to the community in 1930. It is managed by a group of volunteers who work together to ensure that the space is a safe sanctuary for the young people of our village and surrounding area. It has been a joy to see and hear how well the park has been enjoyed once it was allowed to reopen after the brief lockdown closure last year.
We now need your help!
Every year we need to raise funds to cover the annual maintenance costs, any repairs and the insurance (which is £1500 per year alone!). In addition we apply for grants for new equipment when we can.
Restrictions over the last year have made any fundraising incredibly difficult; we have drained the accounts and are calling for help to pay for the repair of the zip wire, a whopping £2200! If you can reach into your pockets to help we and the community would be very grateful.
Meanwhile we are busy trying to plan some fundraisers for this year so watch this space!
Thanks in advance.
