STELVIO FOR TT100

On the 18-01-18, one of my best friends was sadly taken when his Fishing Vessel, the “Nancy Glen” (TT100) capsized in a tragic accident just off the coast of my local village, “Tarbert” Loch Fyne. My lifelong friend, Duncan MacDougall (TT) and his fellow crew member Przemek Krawczyk are believed to be within the Vessel which heartbreakingly remains on the sea bed. Fortunately a third member of the Crew survived and is recovering from his ordeal. There has been an extremely successful campaign set up to raise funds to bring our boys home and I would like to support this campaign when I participate in the Granfondo Stelvio Santini, with all proceeds going to this particularly worthy cause and to support both Wives and their young families during this unbearably traumatic time and beyond.

Granfondo Stelvio Santini takes place on 03-06-18 where I will attempt to set off from Bormio in Italy and complete the long Route of 151km with approximately 4058 metres /13314 feet of ascent (Ben Nevis x3), incorporating the brutal 17km Mortirolo Pass (1726m) which is considered one of the toughest and most challenging climbs in Europe and finishing atop the notorious 22km Passo Stelvio, the highest road pass in Italy at 2758m. As a keen cyclist, I will train 6 days a week over the next 4 months in order to do the crew of the Nancy Glen justice and raise further much needed funds.

Any kind donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
