    Story

The difference between a life lost and a life saved…………
You can help avoid an unnecessary death by Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

It can be challenging for trained first responders to reach people suffering a cardiac arrest quickly, particularly in rural areas like ours. Defibrillation within 3–5 min of collapse can produce survival rates as high as 50–70%. Each minute of delay to defibrillation reduces the probability of survival to hospital discharge by 10%. We can do something about that.

The plan is to site two defibrillators in the village, one at the Village Hall and one up in Itlay. There’s only one drawback, the British Heart Foundation has spent all its money. We’re looking at other grants and funding but it’s a Good Thing to help ourselves and take the initiative.

It’s not a lot of money either, we’re looking to raise just £3,000 and we’ve already secured £500 from Cotswolds District Council.

Every little helps, as they say, so if you’re minded to contribute a little that would be fantastic. If you’re business would like to contribute a little more, I’m sure we can advertise your support.
