    Story

On Saturday 21st December 2019, Gordon Gibson (42) tragically passed away at Greenock Police Office.

Gordon is the much-loved husband of Laura and devoted dad to Oliver (7) and Hayley (3).

Having joined Strathclyde Police in 2001, Gordon worked in K division as a dedicated uniform and drugs unit officer in Paisley. He later joined Police Scotland becoming a highly respected detective constable within the CID before being transferred to Greenock police office.

Gordon brought happiness to all who knew him with his cheeky and mischievous sense of humour, his infectious laugh and larger than life personality. He is well known as a humble yet fearless officer who was always the one other cops relied upon should they find themselves in jeopardy.

Gordon will be missed by all who knew him.

This page has been created to provide financial support to Gordon’s family during this difficult time.

THE FINAL INSPECTION (Part 1) The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. “Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true?” The policeman squared his shoulders and said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t, Because those of us who carry warrant cards can’t always be a saint.
