Story
We are the under-14 squad from Walton Rowing Club: a group of 24 boys and girls who have achieved success because of the efforts of our coaches (and a lot of hard work on our part too!)
In May 2017 our coach Gordon Sandifer was killed in a cycling accident while on his way home from the Club after coaching us. We would like to raise money to buy a boat or other suitable memorial for Gordon, and so on Sunday 10th September we will row (scull) the 20 km from Runnymede back to Walton. Please help us to raise £2500 by sponsoring our effort.

7 years agoWe did it! On Sunday 10th over 30 J14s and J15s completed the 20 km, in quads, singles and even a skiff! Thank-you to all the parents who drove us to the start and cycled alongside us, and of course to everyone who agreed to sponsor us. We have exceeded our target and should be able to buy a lightweight double scull.

Only heard about the sad news whilst chatting to one of your members while walking past your club-house this morning. So very sad.
