We got a bit more than we’d bargained for when we had to call an ambulance for a resident mid lunch on Christmas Eve- adding a new dimension to hosting lunch for 100! All ended well, although we’ve decided that to ensure accessibility to life saving equipment on the Pier (which we found to be lacking) we shall be raising money for a defibrillator to be placed in our underpass, where it will be available to anyone nearby 24-hours a day should the need arise. An outdoor Defibrillator will give emergency security to anyone who lives in the immediate vicinity of the Pier, as well as visitors to the area.

The nearest ones are currently at St Catherine’s, St Martin’s Public Hall and the Grouville Co-op. That, quite simply is too far, when the seconds count.

We’ve started the fundraiser with our own £500 donation. Can't wait to see what we can all achieve together!
