This summer in August I will be doing a charity ride from John O'Groats to Land's End. Setting off from John O'Groats on 1st of August, I am aiming to cover the 1000 mile route solo in 10 days.

I am raising money for a very close to my heart registered charity - Porthleven Harbour Hedgies Rescue, Nr 1204006, run by Trace Sarge, who rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured hedgehogs around the clock. Please donate! Every penny will help. Trace continues caring for hedgehogs in need and give them the second chance they deserve.

Also, I have decided to take on this adventure and challenge in honour and memory of my partner's Dad - Paul Manning, who passed away most unexpectedly last year and who completed Lejog some years ago, last time as a triathlon with friends in 2001. This year it is the 50th anniversary of the original event in July 1976 when members of Poltair Plodders ran in relay from Land's End to John O'Groats in just over 7 days!. Lejog is a trip which I've always wanted to do at least once in my life. Sadly, I didn't cycle this event when Paul was alive. I am 100% sure he would have loved to support and will be with me in spirit.

I am a very lucky girl as I have the true love and support of my partner, James. I could not have done this challenge without him. He supported me through planning, training and encouragement everyday. Thank you.
