What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

During these difficult times, we are all experiencing challenges that will affect many people’s health, social lives and livelihoods for a long time to come.

Each year, Gosport Boxing Club helps hundreds of young people and adults achieve things they never thought they'd be able to. When the Government advised to close gyms and public places across the country due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it dawned on us that we may go several months without any income to pay our rent and other outgoings.

Gosport Boxing Club is a not-for-profit organisation, open to everyone, with an unpaid volunteer workforce. We would be so grateful if you could help us by kindly donating a small amount to our club to ensure we will still be there on the other side of this crisis to continue the work we do for the community.

We currently have zero income, which could mean no club in the future.

At this stage, there is a great level of uncertainty around the impact that the Coronavirus will have on Gosport Boxing Club, especially as we still need to cover our overheads throughout the coming weeks and months, but with zero income to do so. Every month we have significant outgoings including rent, utilities, and our membership to England Boxing will soon be up for renewal - not forgetting training for our coaches and travelling expenses for competitions. Your donation will go towards helping us to pay for these things now and in the future. Quite simply, without your support, our Boxers and our BOXFIT members we have zero income, and ultimately no club. We have also just missed out on a show at our club, which would have really helped us financially.

#KOCOVID19

We're joining forces with England Boxing's “KO COVID-19” campaign , appealing to members of our local community to donate whatever they can to your local boxing club, to help ensure that when we as a nation have KO’d Covid-19, there is still an amateur boxing club in Gosport that people can return to.

By helping us now, we will be able to continue making an impact on the people of Gosport's lives in the future. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting your local boxing club.

With zero income it really does worry is what the future holds for us, but with support like this we will fight this awful crisis and recover. On behalf of Boxers and Coaches at Gosport Boxing Club, thank you all very much.
