Story

Since COVID-19 hit the UK, the demand for food from families with lower incomes has sky rocketed. Those who struggled on minimum wage before, now suffer even more as work places close, their jobs are made redundant or they are forced to work for even lower pay so business can keep running.

As we have heard in the news recently, the government have ruled out extending free school meals beyond term time, which means that the struggle is going to get even harder. For too many families, those free school meals are what keep their children fed and able to concentrate in school, but what happens during the holidays when that is taken away from them?

Frontline organisations, like Fare Share, provide food to children and their families. They urgently need your help to deliver healthy, nutritious food to the food banks, community groups, activity schemes and schools supporting the UK’s most vulnerable children during this crisis.

In order to give them that little bit of extra help, I wanted to do something to raise money in support of those families when the government refuses too.

I am going to do 50 burpees a day, everyday, for one whole month, in the hope that you will also help me to support this charity by donating money to the cause.

£10 will help deliver enough food for 40 meals.

£20 will help deliver enough food for 80 meals

£50 will help deliver enough food for 200 meals

I am going to donate £2 every day for 30 days once I have completed the 100 burpees, and I hope to raise at-least £150 in total.

I will also be sharing my fundraising journey through @gottgoals, where I will be going live every day at 8am to do my 50 burpees. Please do come along, watch and donate!
