Story
Four years ago the Mackay family gave up their settled and secure situation, and moved from a thriving congregation in Falkirk to Govan Glasgow, to plant a new church. Four years on, and still with no guaranteed salary, God has been pleased to bless their sacrificial endeavour with the establishment of a local congregation of 25-30 people in this area of drugs, deprivation and crime.
Now we need a building of our own, and we are looking to raise £30,000 to purchase a specific property in the heart of Govan. Already £8,000 has been donated, and we are asking for your help to meet the cost of buying the church building pictured above. We are hoping to raise £23,500 on justgiving.com which should cover the fees of crowdfunding and the outstanding costs of purchasing the building.
Govan Free Church is probably the poorest congregation in Scotland, with a minister who works tirelessly, who has to raise his own salary, as well as ministry expenses and who insists that in order for a church to be planted there must be converts from the local community. Our present rented space is, happily, now too small for us.
Please help us to purchase this building in order to more effectively minister to the community.

It's a great wee church plant, every community should have this kind of fellowship, caring and sharing is what it's all about.
