Story
Sadie made a dramatic entrance into the world on October 10th 2015. From the day she was born she struggled to feed and was started on medication for reflux and a milk allergy.
Unfortunately, this did not help and progressively Sadie got very sick, by the time she was 8 weeks old she was being fed by a central line straight into her heart.
She was fed this way for around 2 months and endured lots of infections and surgeries during this time. With the aid of some medication Sadie was then transitioned onto a feeding tube straight into her bowel, which allowed her to finally come home from hospital.
Sadie has remained on this feeding tube, which she relies on 24 hours a day since that day and has had 18 operations in her 2 and a half years of life.
She has multiple allergies, low blood sugars and suffers with repeated infections on top of her stomach not working the way that it should do. We still do not have a complete answer as to why this is, so just have to fire fight the problems as they arise.
Sadie is a true warrior she carries her feed and her pump in a back pack, assists in her blood tests at home, and rarely moans even though she is usually in pain.
She takes hospital visits in her stride and the majority of her friends are nurses or doctors but she is the happiest feistiest little girl you would ever meet.
