Hi, My name is Grace Im a Staff Nurse in Parry Ward in Royal United Hospital in Bath.

In November of 2022, I received a life-changing cancer diagnosis and began a grueling chemotherapy and radiotherapy regime in January 2023. I finished all the treatment. I thought everything was fine. After my annual check up on March 2024, I had my scan we've found out Cancer has returned and this time with mets. My specialists estimate that I will have to undertake another intensive round of treatment of Chemotherapy for 6 months and Immunotherapy for 2 years ( March to Sept) but suddenly the treatment was delayed since i developed some complications from my treatment. I need to undergo operation for my stent since my right kidney is not fully functioning because of the tumor. I need to attend endocrine appointment since I am not producing cortisol. I need to have anticoagulant injection everyday because i developed blood clot on my renal vein. I need to attend dermatology appointments for my rashes which i got from the highdose chemo drugs.

I was on sick leave from March to September and my oncologist extended it for another 4 months. And now im no longer receiving any salary and statutory sick pay since im on a longterm sickness.
