So as some of you know grace is currently on D33 at QMC for a 14-17 night stay. We have been on all of the childrens wards now over the years and none of them have had as little resources to keep children and teenagers occupied. As most people know these things arent essential, so are only obtained through donations. They have 3 tvs but no dvd players that work and tvs have to be put away at 8(that is if you can get one to work) this ward holds 13 children, it is a general admission ward but specialises in cystic fibrosis and eating disorders. These children are on here for alot longer than grace, some have been here for 3 months already. I am planning a fundraising event for the end of summer, but in the mean time grace is going to do a little fundraiser. We want to be able to get them a couple of portable dvd players and headphones as the last 2 nights graces has been borrowed by children that are struggling to sleep. Anyone that knows grace knows that she despises walking even going to the end of the street is a battle as she gets tired quickly, hot, bothered and her joints hurt but she has agreed to walk up all 5 flights of stairs in the hospital every morning whilst we are still hear so she can help aswell (will be getting proof). please help us help these poorly children have a better time whilst in here.
