    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Hi! My name is Grace and I'm from NI and really want to make a change. I'm are hoping to head to Romania with Habitat for Humanity from the 28th of June to the 8th of July. As a kid growing up, like many I'm sure, it was always a struggle trying to resist the urge to look away when the harrowing commercials came on illustrating the horrific situations in developing countries. I always felt guilt, no matter what mood we were in. How can we live in our comfortable homes when there are those with nothing? We're all human of equal value; how can some have more than others? It is an abomination. There is so many inequalities in the world; those without water, food, equal rights, freedom, peace, those without a place to call home. We may not really consider the last one. Imagine living in a makeshift house made out of rubbish, constantly damp, filthy, disease ridden. This is the horrific reality of many people living in the world and it simply isn't one which has to be. Every single person has the right to good, clean and healthy housing and I am determined to do my part to help this cause and give families in Romania what they desperately deserve. That is why this summer I am raising this money to make a difference. I aspire to travel with the charity Habitat for Humanity on a Youth Build project, building houses for families. The money will help me get to Romania, raise funds for Habitat for Humanity and also raise money for the materials needed to build the houses. This is our time to give something more. It is a life changing experience to help change lives of other and I would would love help in order to help get there.

Thank you very very much :)

So yesterday I completed an 11 mile sail out of East Down Yacht Club, around Strangford Lough with my sister Sarah in our wayfarer. A steady 11 knots with gusts of up to 18, along with the help of our spinaker meant we finished in just over two hours! Thank you to all who have sponsored me in my winter sail through which I raised £160 for Habitat for Humanity. Hope everyone had a good christmas!
