Story
McDermott, Grace. ( Dublin and New York). Died tragically Monday 1st May 2017.
Deeply regretted by her loving family, Robert, Leslie, Kristen, Matthew and Peter, and by her family in Ireland, Colin, Martin, Denise and David and also by her many caring friends and colleagues in Ireland and worldwide.
Sleep tight, sweet angel Grace. You touched us all with your love, your mind and your passion for life.
Grace's grandmother Georgette battled Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) before passing away in 2016 and it is a condition that was dear to her. Also, Grace had a huge interest in equality and women's rights. Her blog 'Women are Boring' was set up to highlight the huge, and often overlooked, contribution that women make to academia and research.
If people feel they want to contribute in some way in lieu of flowers, we will be sharing any money raised between the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Sonas (Women's refuge charity).
Thank you
