I've raised £2000 to to help pay for the re siting of the recently demolished Greasbrough Public hall stone façade.

Greasbrough Public Hall was built in 1925, largely by public subscription, and for most of that time served as a much used and valued "Community Hub". Greasbrough Public Hall was used for many functions including Dances, Concerts, Educational Courses, Play Groups, Wedding Receptions, Presentation nights for local groups, Keep Fit Classes, Self Defence Classes and Polling Station to name but a few.
Greasbrough Public Hall Community Trust was formed in 2016 to try and save this iconic, historic Public Hall from demolition by RMBC to make way for a traffic congestion easing junction.
G.P.H.C.T. fought for over one year but sadly GPHCT lost the year long battle and Greasbrough Public Hall was demolished by RMBC in 2017.
However the "1925" stone façade has been retained and we are now in the process of applying for planning permission to re site this iconic stone work in Greasbrough as a lasting memorial to Greasbrough Public Hall. We are also in the process of obtaining tenders and costings from construction companies to re site the Memorial Stones. To do this we need to raise several thousand pounds and we feel strongly that, as this iconic, historic and much loved building meant so much to the people of Greasbrough and surrounding district community, we would have a degree of fundraising success through "Just Giving" . You can donate as little as £2.00 up to any amount you wish to give. All donations, less a 5% administration fee charged by "JUST GIVING" and a 1.25% card fee, will go directly towards the cost of labour, expertise and machinery needed to re site the Memorial Stones, providing a York Stone paved walk to surround the build and the whole re build will be fenced off with ornamental railings. Our intention is to create a lasting, permanent memorial for the local public to remember Greasbrough Public Hall for many years to come.
