Harley (USAR) and Saxon No 1 (Fire Investigation) sadly no longer with us but always in our memory. This tribute is for all the unsung FRS K9 heroes that we have loved and lost over the years throughout the UK.

As a serving UK Fire Officer/Dog Handler (35 years) i have had the pleasure of training and working with many Search and Rescue K9's from many different disciplines over the years and as we all know as animal lovers there is nothing worse than the day you have to say goodbye to your loyal partner/friend as they cross over the Rainbow Bridge.

Currently there is nowhere in the UK where we can visit to remember, reflect, and acknowledge the dedication and contribution made by these hard working and dedicated unsung K9 heroes who served their individual FRS/Organisation's by ultimately saving lives and by making our communities safer places to live and work in.

The aim of the association is to build a lasting memorial for all the UK Fire & Rescue Services K9s that we have loved and lost. The memorial will sit nicely alongside the National Red Plaque Fire Service Memorial already established at the Living Memory Memorial, White House Farm, Rettendon, Essex.

This lasting tribute will consist of a memorial wall, a K9 sculpture and remembrance garden with individual named plaques displayed on the wall identifying these unsung heroes from all over the UK. A place where Fire Service personnel, families and members of the public can visit , sit in peace and reflect.

As the founder of the UK FRS K9 Memorial Association (est November 2024) i am along with my Co founder Andy Earl looking to raise funds through this page along with numerous fund raising events programmed in for 2025 ( Great South Run, Fire Station Car Washes etc) to enable us to appoint an architect/sculptor to design and build a K9 statue for this new exciting project.
