Story

Noah Jacks Journey

the lives of Noah's parents were turned upside down on the 17th November 2020 when their beautiful baby boy was born lifeless. He was quickly whisked away to intensive care and was placed on life support. At that time we didn’t know if Noah would survive. He received cooling mat treatment to prevent further brain damage but unfortunately the damage had already been done. A week later we received the devastating news that the MRI showed a moderate to severe brain injury and Noah had suffered Grade three HIE - Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy which basically means a lack of oxygen to the brain.

In Noah's first 5 months he has fought his way to be here and continues to amaze every single day. Due to his brain injury Noah has been further diagnosed with a number of disorders these include. Dystonia -painful muscle spasms, evolving Cerebral Palsy, CVI - cognitive vision impairment, unsafe swallow currently tube fed, GORD Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and possible seizure activity. Despite all of this Noah is a determined little boy who has an infectious smile.

Now nearly 4 years on. Noah is continuing to amaze. and its time to get him walking

The Innowalker will ensure Noah is able to walk every single day by using this amazing piece of equipment made by - Made for Movement Global. This is the only type of device in the uk which allows standing and the dynamic movement of walking all at the same time!

The benefits of this type of movement are endless. Great for overall strength, joint health, core and head control, increased heart rate, better blood circulation and improved lung capacity. For Noah it will also help decrease dystonic movement patterns.

Unfortunately this type of equipment isn’t provided by the NHS and would have to be privately funded. The next size up would also last him into adult hood. The price of this type of equipment isn’t cheap and comes in at £26,000

I hope to help with this cost with what we can get in donations and raise the awareness of HIE.
