Story

My wife was diagnosed with alzheimers just over 10 years ago, which was dreadful at just 62, she deteriorated quickly and it has been heartbreaking living with this vibrant lovely woman and watch her disappear da by day . she lost her speech five or six years ago but physically was ok, but over the last year her walking worsened until now she cannot support herself without help . we have to use a hoist to move her and a wheelchair, i tried for a long time to encourage her to walk , but that is now not an option . she did not qualify for a mobilty vehicle because at diagnosis her mobility was not classified as highest ,and once you are over 65 you cannot reapply, nor can you be reassessed, how crazy is that? I would like to be able to take her out as i used to , I have been her primary carer and gave up work about 6 years ago to look after her , which i have been priveliged to do, with fantastic help and support from family and carers ..
