Story
During this uncertain time, a lot of families in our community in Sinfin are having to provide meals for themselves and their children. At Anthem Schools Trust trading as Grampian Primary Academy we recognise the extra pressure that this can cause for parents whilst juggling the additional demands of home schooling and trying to find food in a very bare local supermarket.
To support all our school families we are providing a meal service at lunchtime. For those home schooling or in self-isolation this is in the form of a grab and go system where they can pre-order meals and collect from the school kitchen. We are also opening up school to provide care for the children of key workers and families who need some extra support. This includes providing meals for these children.
We would like to ensure that we can continue to do this for not only as long as possible but to also maintain the affordable price that we are offering it at. The funds we receive will go towards supporting this service and will allow us to reach as many families in our school community as possible.

4 years ago10 weeks of providing meals to our families completed. Next week we will begin to open school but due to the social distancing regulations this will only be to our reception class. We still want to provide ‘Grab & Go’ meals for our families still at home. It is a great way for them to feel connected with school and we look forward to seeing them each day.

4 years agoThanks to the very generous donations we have received and food donations from Tesco, Morrison’s and the QFM Group, we have been able to serve 3,500 meals. Not bad for a school that closed its doors to the majority of our children 5 weeks ago! We want to secure funds for further meals to enable us to provide the ‘Grab and Go’ service as this uncertain time continues. This service not only delivers meals to families but it gives the opportunity for school to check in with everyone on a daily basis and put a few extra smiles on faces.

4 years agoDue to the overwhelming donations we have received, we have been able to deliver food parcels to families that are part of our school community. This would not have been possible without the donations and we hope to provide more. From speaking to our families we have been made aware that the financial situation for them has become very uncertain. This could be due to them having to self-isolate, change in job circumstances, losing self-employed work ... the list goes on. Thank you. We want to be able to continue this support.
