Story
This Christmas, we will be battling waves, blisters and fatigue and spending up to 50 days ALONE AT SEA in an attempt to become the oldest pair to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua. In doing so, we aim to raise thousands for charity.
Despite only starting last August, we have already raised just over £70k and bought our boat, which is currently being built. However, we still need at least £20k to fund a significant amount of equipment, including life raft, water maker, satcomms and supplies for 50 days alone at sea.
Your donations will help us to cover the cost of the expedition and the rest will be given to our chosen charities.

"I fully support Neil and Peter in their extraordinary adventure. Rowing the Atlantic is an incredible challenge, not just physically, but mentally too. It requires resourcefulness, courage and determination. This is in the DNA of every Airborne soldier and does not diminish with age.
Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer KCB DSO MBE. Colonel Commandant The Parachute Regiment

Wishing you both the very best of luck in December. It was good to talk to you Neil at Temple Bar yesterday and I wonder what the famous Dr Samuel Johnson would have said about your challenge?

You are completely bonkers. What happened to the notion of pipe and slippers in retirement?! However I'm full of admiration and rooting for you.

One tough ocean - two tough grandads... Peter Ketley and Neil Young are both over 60 and neither of them have ever rowed before. Will their 40-year friendship and hard-earned Parachute Regiment 'mettle' be enough...? Find out more at www.grandadsoftheatlantic.com
