Weʼve raised £30 to support the Walking for Health network by providing training opportunities and equipment for the network's fantastic volunteers.
- Funded on Thursday, 30th November 2017
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
In February 2017 I started fundraising for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money to support the fantastic work of the Walking for Health Network. I had originally planned to carry out this challenge during March 2017 but unfortunately (due to unforseen circumstances) my plans and fundraising had to be put on hold.
The good news is that my Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is now back on and at the end of Summer I will be heading back up into the Yorkshire Dales to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. My original fundraising target was £500 and thanks to the generosity of so many people I raised an impressive £845.
I would now like to hit another milestone and get the total raised to £1000 ... which is why the fundraising target for this justgiving page is £155 !
The official Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is a 24 mile hike which includes reaching the summit of the three highest mountains in Yorkshire which are Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Ingleborough (723m) and Whernside (736m). This challenge must also be completed in less than 12 hours !
WALKING FOR HEALTH is a national network of around 600 local health walk schemes run by volunteers. It was set up 12 years ago and has enabled thousands of people with health issues to discover the great outdoors. Walking is a fantastic activity to keep healthy and live longer and can also help by reducing stress and enabling people to recover from serious illnesses. The scheme also works closely with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide walks and outdoors activities for individuals and families affected by cancer.
All of the money raised from my Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will be donated to voluntary organisations who are part of the Walking for Health network to provide essential training, support and equipment so every single pound raised really will make a difference. Many thanks for your support !

About the fundraiser
I'm a husband and a father and currently training to become a Mountain Leader. I love the great outdoors and last year took on the National Three Peaks (Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis) raising lots of money for charity. I also organise trekking and charity events for others.
