Story
One year ago we lost our Dad/Grandpa to cancer. It was an enormous sadness for us all, however we had the opportunity to spend time with him at the Nightingale Macmillan hospice at the Royal Derby Hospital, surrounded by great professionals who made his last two weeks as comfortable and dignified as they could. We took enormous comfort from this and as a family would like to help future patients and families to have a similar experience.
Several members of the Charlton family are running the Great North Run Half Marathon on September 9th to raise funds for both the Macmillan and the Nightingale hospice.
The Great North Run is held near Newcastle where Dad was born and raised, and we know he would be happy to see us all returning to his birthplace.
£3000 will help to renovate and update one of the private rooms at the hospice. Please donate to help us make a better place for other patients at the end of their lives giving their families peace of mind. Thank you from us all.
