We are Great Wakering Sea Scout group. Based near Southend-On-Sea, Essex, we currently have a good number of both boys and girls throughout each section, Beavers 6-8yrs, Cubs 8-10 1/2yrs, Scouts 10 1/2-14yrs and Explorers 14-18yrs.

We have our club house based on one of the River Crouch tributaries. Here we run our weekly meetings introducing the youngsters to Sailing, Kayaking, Rafting and many different types of water/land activities. The building which was originally constructed from a water pumping station is unfortunately now in need of some serious TLC.

We are looking to raise funds to enable us carry out much needed maintenance and repairs, we will also look at improving the security to keep all of our prizes boats safe.

Any funds raised will go straight back into the unit, providing the children in our Group with a safe and enjoyable place to learn and develop their water and scout skills for more years to come.

The group is always looking to recruit new members and anyone with children in the local area are more than encouraged to come along and see what we get up to.
