Story

Hi, welcome to the Pembroke 21C CIC JustGiving page. We provide volunteering, training and paid work opportunities with our partners to folk living in South-West Pembrokeshire. We work in woodlands and our farmland to increase biodiversity with our coppice work and our fantastic orchard of Welsh variety apple trees.

Our volunteers cut the orchard grass and are using walk-behind mowers, it's all we have, it takes over three hours, and it's very hard on the volunteers too with just over a hectare of mowing to do. There's too much to collect so it's just mulched on the surface. We're seeking funds for a ride-on mower that can handle the west Wales climate (we have identified the one we need). Cutting and collecting the grass will take some of the nitrogen out of the soil, this is just what the wildflowers need. We can make nesting places for our lizards and grass snakes to lay their eggs in the grass clippings too. Please take a moment to donate what you can for our amazing project. If you want to know more about our work please email projectmanager@pembroke21c.org.uk

Thank you,

The team at Greenhill Farm
