Story

"“It’s only through working together that we can help nature recover,” Beccy Speight, RSPB chief executive, 2023. Greening Arundel is an alliance of 15 organisations working together to help make the town greener, more efficiently and sustainably.

The initiative is supported by the Green Team, a group of 30 local volunteers who have rolled their sleeves up to implement a series of projects across the town - transforming the station pathway and the Quayside bed, maintaining the Pollinator Garden and planting herbs in troughs across town. We are being supported by Arundel Town Council, the South Downs Trust, the Royal Horticultural Society, and the Sussex Ornithological Society, as well as by local businesses and organisations.

But there is much more to do. We are raising funds to increase bio-diversity by planting up more troughs and to transform green spaces such as the station forecourt. We want to help make Arundel a haven for wildlife through our Bring Back the Birds campaign for example. We are aiming to reduce environmental damage through encouraging positive greening practices. We are finding ways to engage as many locals as possible in greening activities and partnering with charities, such as the Aldingbourne Trust. We are working hard on sustainability by growing on our own allotment.

Please support us by volunteering, donating or sending a message of support.
